The amendment says, ‘all persons born or naturalised in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens’. The executive order that the administration is trying to pass is that children born in the US to parents who do not have permanent residency, such as illegal immigrations or those visiting the country on a tourist, student, or temporary work visa, should not be given citizenship.
