‘Five Years in Prison’: AG Bondi Sends Clear Message To ICE Rioters

Attorney General Pam Bondi, in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity, issued a strong warning to individuals participating in violent protests and riots in Los Angeles related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations. Bondi condemned the condition of the city, remarking that it ‘resembles a Third World country,’ and underscored the federal government’s commitment to enforcing the law. She indicated that should California officials neglect to safeguard their own law enforcement, the Department of Justice would step in, referencing federal laws to prosecute those who assault police officers or partake in looting and rioting.

Bondi disclosed that nine individuals are currently facing federal charges, with additional cases in progress. She detailed several legal strategies being employed, including federal assault laws, the Hobbs Act concerning robbery, and regulations that impose sentences of up to 20 years in prison. Notable instances included attacks involving Molotov cocktails and acts of vandalism, along with a suspect recognized for hurling cinder blocks at police vehicles. Bondi asserted that individuals who engage in violent acts, looting, or even spitting on officers would face federal prosecution. Her message was clear: the federal government, under President Trump, will not accept civil disorder aimed at law enforcement, and decisive legal measures will be pursued against all violators.
