Shock split revealed after Keith Urban’s furious reaction to Nicole Kidman’s racy film role!

Cracks in the Spotlight: Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s Marriage Under Strain Before Split
A Tense Radio Moment

Signs of strain in Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s marriage surfaced months before news of their separation. On July 1, Urban appeared on Hayley & Max in the Morning on Adelaide’s Mix102.3 to promote his upcoming tour dates. What began as a lighthearted interview took a sharp turn when the Grammy-winning country star was asked about Kidman’s love scenes with younger co-stars, including Zac Efron in Netflix’s A Family Affair.

Urban, visibly uncomfortable, abruptly disconnected from the Zoom call after the racy question. A producer later suggested his team ended the call to avoid further probing, while one host admitted the inquiry may have been “too direct.”

At the time, Urban’s camp insisted he wasn’t responsible for the cutoff. “Keith did not hang up, period,” a source told People. “He doesn’t host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger.”

A Growing Distance

Still, the moment raised eyebrows, especially as Kidman continued taking on provocative roles — including the 2024 thriller Babygirl, where she played a high-powered executive entangled with a younger intern.

The couple’s public appearances had already dwindled. Their last outing together was in June 2025, when they attended a FIFA World Cup match in Nashville. Since then, Urban has spent much of the year on his High and Alive World Tour, while Kidman and their daughters, Sunday (16) and Faith (14), remained in Nashville.

TMZ later reported that Urban had acquired his own residence in the city and moved out of the family’s $4 million compound, further fueling speculation.

Separate Paths

Kidman, meanwhile, was based in London over the summer, filming the sequel to her 1998 film Practical Magic. She reportedly rented a Hampstead mansion once owned by Boy George for £65,000 ($87,000) per month.

An insider told Woman’s Day that the distance had grown since Kidman’s mother passed away last September:

“It’s like they both went their separate ways. They make an effort to speak every day when they’re apart, but it is shocking how much time they’ve spent apart.”

The End of a 19-Year Marriage

After nearly two decades together, the news broke this week that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are separating. The couple, long considered one of Hollywood’s most enduring partnerships, now appear to be closing a chapter marked by both professional triumphs and personal trials.
