Beandri Booysen’s life was a powerful example of strength, love, and positivity. Born in South Africa, she was diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome at just seven months old—a rare condition that causes rapid aging. Doctors didn’t expect her to live past her early teens, but Beandri defied the odds and lived until 19.

Despite weighing only 12 kg and facing many challenges, she lived life to the fullest. Beandri dreamed of becoming a teacher, enjoyed school, and inspired nearly 300,000 followers on TikTok with motivational videos. Her motto, “Be yourself. Love yourself. Believe in yourself,” touched hearts worldwide.

Just weeks after her 19th birthday, Beandri faced a sudden health crisis. On December 18, her mother announced that she had passed away. Beandri was the last known person in South Africa living with progeria and a strong voice for awareness and inclusion.
Her message of love, strength, and joy will live on. Though her time was short, Beandri left a lasting legacy of courage and hope that will never be forgotten.
